How old are and where are you from?
I’m 23 years old from East Hartford, CT
Have your surroundings shaped you in a creative sense, and in what way?
Yeah my environment has had a very huge impact due to everyone sounding the same or trying to do what the next guy does. I’ve put myself in my own path I used to be big on working with people and expanding my relationships but that taught me you really only got yourself and due to that my music comes off dark and melancholy.
Who are your top 5 favorite artists?
Man, wow, I gotta say my top 5 would be… in no particular order: Kid Cudi, Mercury Darko, LUCKI, BONES, & Xavier Wulf.
What made you start making music?
I wanted to save the world or at least I want to make a change in the world. Mainly to show people to love themselves more and be accountable for their actions wether they realize they created them or not.
Who are your biggest influences?
Kid Cudi really brought me out my comfort zone as an artist cause when I started I tried to be super woke all the time basically on some Pro Era chakra vibes but I’ve loved Cudi as an artist for so long and listening to his music like MOTM 2. That project blew my mind, the versatility throughout it is immaculate. I’m also very inspired by the Asian culture as a whole. Sometimes Japan a little more but that culture helps me carry my music in ways I normally wouldn’t imagine. Everything they do is done with vigor and well thought out, it’s pretty riveting when you invest the time.
What’s your favorite song at the moment?
My favorite song right now is actually off of my most recent EP release Vagabond and it’s called WHO KNOWS? I love it because it’s short, sweet, and straight to the point. I haven’t made many songs where I’m cocky and I feel like “Yo, I really snapped there! Who am I mad at?” Ahahah but yeah it slaps I use my regular voice I normally use a deep voice but it felt right to just ease over the beat and flow. Here’s a link for reference.
What keeps you going? How you doing mentally?
Life’s been pretty tough these last couple months like honestly, I was losing hope for a bit and the one thing that kept me pushing was how much I want to help the world and my amazing friends from my team, Shugosha Squad to my brothers $ick Sain & Shaun Gotti to my home girl Coley, there’s so many more to name but they’ve all made me feel less alone or have instilled so much faith in me that I couldn’t possibly stop or fail now not just for them but for me too.
How would you describe your style?
I make Alternative Rap due to me using various elements of both because I don’t just rap I sometimes scream or do some grungy singing so I would definitely categorize it under that for sure. As dark as it comes across, there’s a lot of light to be found in my music. I implement very reflective lyrics to straight brash and edgy lyrics to show the duality of the life we live. My style is all over the place but very grounded all at the same time.
What do your parents think about you doing music?
Crazy is part is I really don’t know, I’m not too family oriented at all. I never shared my goals with my parents and I think my grandma thinks it’s some American Idol type shit but she’s older and doesn’t know about streaming services etc (she thinks I want to be on the radio) but yeah no I don’t think anyone in my family really pays too much mind besides my older brother who’s super supportive like he shares my work with his friends from all over and I couldn’t be anymore grateful.
Outside of music, what keeps you busy?
I’m a weeabo so I spend a majority of my time going to work as a cook, binging anime shows, comic book shows, psychological shows, mystical etc I sometimes draw too cause I dream of having a manga one day. I also like to direct when I can or help edit videos with fellow creatives I want every part of my life to feel like one big piece of art that I’ve been sculpting throughout my life wether it be creating or admiring it.
