Where are you from? Have your surroundings shaped you in a creative sense, and in what way?
I’m from Griffin, Georgia. About an hour South of Atlanta. And not really lol there wasn’t much to do around here if you didn’t play sports. When I was growing up, me and my friends made do with what we had. Everything is beginning to change now though.
What’s your background like?
I was born in Riverdale. Grew up in Griffin while family is from Florida so I visited every summer. I’m the only child so I entertained myself for the most part until I met my lifelong friends.
Who are your top 5 favorite artists?
I’d like to say as of right now? Playboi Carti, Key!, Pierre Bourne, Robb Bank$ and lastly Duwap Kaine.
What made you start making music?
My family has always been around it. My mother sang in high school as a lead soprano. My father played guitar for a living at one point so it was expected. I was just late lol I’m 23 and just started rapping summer 2017.
Who are your biggest influences?
Wiz Khalifa, Future and Key!
What’s your favorite song at the moment?
It would definitely have to be “For The 2000” by Pierre.
What keeps you going? How you doing mentally?
My friends and family. All of my friends do something that naturally aligns us. My homies Geez and Burnie make beats. Garry and JD are photographers/videographers. Dio raps/sings. We all come together to make SOA. Mentally I’m in love with the whole art of everything. It’s much more natural to me now. I used to be really iffy. I even tried to quit once but my friends pushed me and I’m glad they did for sure.
How would you describe your style?
I honestly don’t know lol I just go in and make whatever. If you go off production wise a lot of people will see Pierre-ish. I just get told my music is very wavy/spacely but that’s the goal tbh. I love making vibes. Something to chill and smoke to.
What do you hope to accomplish in 2019?
Honestly, I’d love to go all the way and become a full star this year lol I’ve fallen in love with mixing/engineering so I want to get even better at it. But ultimately the goal for 2019 is to be able to make a living off of my passion for music.
